1960 AC Aceca

The AC Aceca was a coupe grand tourer based off the AC Ace roadster and introduced at the 1954 London Motor Show. Powered by a 2-liter, 6-cylinder Bristol engine based on the BMW 328 engine, the new AC Aceca-Bristol came in 1956. The new unit gave the car a solid basis for competition, enabling greater performance than the AC engine originally fitted on the model. The AC Aceca was equipped with all-around independent suspension, disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear. The chassis used tubular frame and aluminum panels to keep the weight low. Rubber bushings were fitted on the rear differential to reduce the noise and vibration and fiberglass was used to further isolate the engine from the cabin for more comfort.
