Selling a 1964 BMW 700

1964 BMW 700

Quite the opposite of the LS saloon’s pared-down sensibility, the LS coupe had an extended wheelbase along with some elements from the 700 CS. Thus the 1964 selection included the last iteration of the 700 introduced before it said its final farewells. Only 1,730 LS Coupes were assembled, making them somewhat rare compared to other types of 700. Completing the collection of BMW 700 variations with the 1964 BMW 700, the company’s next venture was already well underway. No longer was there fuel scarcity or other limitations to wrestle with, and BMW was seeing its own rebirth. However, no one can deny that the BMW’s survival is owed to the smash success of the 700, and it’s easy to see why it sold so well. It was a cheap, handsome, and well-put together vehicle, whose many options could suit any need.

1964 BMW 700 Seller’s Guide

With even more variety than the last production year, the 1964 BMW 700 is a true classic, and perfect for beginners in the classic car trade- at first glance. While its large production run, relative simplicity, and ease of care might make it appear so, there is one key factor that prevents the 700 from receiving the notoriety that it otherwise could: the Atlantic Ocean. The 700 was very much suited for the German economic climate, and although nearly 200,000 were produced, a significantly smaller number of those were ever imported to the United States, making the market for them here much different than it would have been, otherwise. What this means for sellers here in America is simple: while a bit unpredictable, the value of the 700 is likely to be a bit higher here, due to it being relatively rare!

If you were on the fence about selling your 700, but this information has perhaps tipped you in favor of selling, you should give Alex Manos a call today! You won’t regret it.
