Ferrari 330

The Ferrari 330 was the successor to the Ferrari 250 series and was first introduced in 1963. The production of the Ferrari 330 America started with a Ferrari 250 GT/E body, fitted with a larger engine. Both Ferrari 330 GTC and GTS models boasted the same chassis as the Ferrari 275, which was produced from 1964 to 1968. On the other hand, the design of the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 was very unique. The production of the Ferrari 330 was discontinued in 1968, when the Ferrari 365 was introduced. Fitted with a revised version based of the Ferrari 400 Superamerica’s 4.0-Liter Colombo V12 engine, the Ferrari 330 series’ main differences were wider bore spacing and the use of a real alternator instead of the dynamo generator. Ferrari launched the first Ferrari 330 in 1963 and named it the 330 America. The car was powered by a new 4-Liter Tipo 209 V12 engine, capable of 300hp at 6,600rpm and shared the chassis from the outgoing Ferrari 250 GTE. Approximately 50 examples were built before the larger Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 would take over.

Ferrari 330 Seller’s Guide

The Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 was introduced at the Brussels Show in January 1964, to replace the Ferrari 330 America. The design featured a longer wheelbase, shaper nose and tail, a wide grille and quad headlights, which made the car look significantly different from its predecessors. The use of Koni adjustable shock absorbers improved the handling and a Dunlop dual circuit braking system with discs was fitted all around. Ferrari was offering a 330 GTC and a 330 GTS between 1966 and 1968, respectively Coupe and Convertible models. Both models shared the independent rear suspension mount and the short wheelbase of the Ferrari 275. The Ferrari 330 models were comfortable and refined vehicles, quieter and easier to drive than previous Ferrari models. Of course, as the owner of a Ferrari 330, these are some of the characteristics that you have likely come to love about these great classics.
