Selling a 1955 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn

1955 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn

The 1955 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn would be the last iteration in a seven-year run for this model. When Charles Rolls and Henry Royce formed their partnership in 1906, their dream was to produce exceedingly high performance engines housed within a fine-tuned, precision chassis. The 1955 Silver Dawn is very much in keeping with that desire. Powered by a 4.6 liter straight-six engine capable of 90+ miles per hour, the Silver Dawn was as fierce as it was beautiful. This was also a true testament to its power to weight ratio.

Following World War II, certain industrial and manufacturing changes happened in the automotive industry. For Rolls Royce, this meant relying on the Pressed Steel Company for the manufacturing of its complete cars. However, this was not universal, as many famous coachbuilders were given the opportunity to work on the Silver Dawn, including Park Ward, Pininfarina, James Young, H.J. Mulliner and others. In fact, Park Ward and H.J Mulliner would later merge with the company to bring coachwork in-house.
