Part of the Aston Martin DB4 Series IV designation, available from September 1961 to September 1962, the 1962 Aston Martin DB4 would make an excellent addition to any classic car collection. While it was quite similar to the Series III examples, the 1962 DB4 Series IV would boast several small but noticeable changes – the majority of which were external. The change from the traditional Aston Martin “egg box” style grille to a barred-style with seven vertical bars was perhaps the most noticeable. The air scoop on the front hood was also lowered at this time, and would no longer feature its own grille. The details of these changes would remain in production throughout the DB5 to the last variant of the DB6 in 1970. Mechanically, a much-needed oil cooler would become standard. Looking for its prominent intake under the front bumper can easily identify this. Several engine-tuning options were also available during this time. Buyers could opt for the standard tune engine with twin SU carburetors, the Special Series engine that was used in the DB4 Vantage with its triple SU carburetors, or the GT engine with its triple Weber carburetors.
