Selling An Aston Martin DB4

Aston Martin DB4

The Aston Martin DB4 would launch at the London Motor Show of 1958 after several years of development by the British auto manufacturer. The DB4 boasted exceptional performance and was the first production car capable of accelerating from 0 to 60mph and then to a complete stop in less than 30 seconds. It also was known to run from 0 to 60mph in just 21 seconds. These achievements would put Aston Martin back in line with other high performance sports cars of the era. Perhaps most revolutionary, however, was that every major component on the Aston Martin DB4 would be new. Its four-seat body was designed by the famous Italian coachbuilder Touring, which would use their new Superleggera construction method where aluminum panels were fixed to a tubular frame built onto a platform chassis. This too would be revolutionary for the era. Powering the Aston Martin DB4 would be a new 3.7L six-cylinder engine. Various body styles were available throughout production, including a DB4 convertible launched in 1961, a DB4 GT and an ultra-rare DB4 GT Zagato. As with many classics of the era, the DB4 would see several modifications throughout production, which are often denoted by Series II, III, IV and V, before being succeeded by the DB5.
