Buying or Selling a 1952 Bentley R Type?
Beginning in 1952, Bentley was producing the R Type and the R Type Continental in the Crewe factory. The Bentley R Type was made in 2,323 units until 1955. The four-door saloon design used a standard steel body, while a few chassis went to independent coachbuilders who created unique versions of the model. Similar in many ways to its predecessor, the Mk VI, the Bentley R Type offered a much larger trunk as well as distinctive radiator grilles. An F-head, 6-cylinder, 4.5-liter engine powered the R Type, with an automatic choke was fitted on the carburetor. The 1952 Bentley R Type featured a sunroof, a radio, fitted tools and leather upholstery as standard options, which made the model a very comfortable and luxurious model.
