Buying or Selling a Bentley Speed Six?
The Bentley 6.5 Litre model was introduced in 1926, following the 3 Litre and 4.5 Litre cars. A higher performance version of the 6.5 Litre was launched in 1928 and named the Bentley Speed Six. The engine of the Speed Six delivered 180 hp–compared to 147 hp for the standard model–and featured two SU carburetors, a high-performance camshaft, and a single-port block. Wheelbases ranging from 138 to 152.5 in could be used for the model, the 138 in option being the most popular. Various coachbuilders, chosen by the customer, created the design of the Speed Six body style. During its 2-year production run, only 182 units of the Bentley Speed Six were built.
