1957 Jaguar XK150

The Jaguar XK150 was the last model in the XK line of Jaguars and was produced from 1957 to 1961, replacing the XK140. Offered as both a Fixed Head Coupe and a Drop Head Coupe, the XK150 showed a family resemblance to the XK140, but was radically revised to offer more to Jaguar drivers. The 1957 Jaguar XK150 (and other year models) offered a one-piece windscreen, which replaced the original split screen, and the wing line for which the car hand become famous no longer dropped so deeply at the doors. Additionally, a widened bonnet opened down to the wings and the bulkhead on the Roadster model was moved back several inches, thus making the bonnet longer. Interestingly, the first XK150s were actually slower than their predecessors. This deficit was corrected in the spring of 1958, when a 3.4-litre “S” engine would be released. Popular color options for the 1957 XK150 included: Red, Pearl Grey, White, Indigo Blue, Imperial Maroon, Cornish Grey, British Racing Green, Carmen Red, Sherwood Green, Mist Grey, Black, Claret, and Cotswold Blue to name a few.

1957 Jaguar XK150 Seller’s Guide

There are a number of points to consider when selling your 1957 Jaguar XK150. First and foremost, it is imperative to present the buyer with a realistic representation of the condition of the vehicle. These cars are more than four decades old; buyers understand there will be defects and potentially mechanical issues. In fact, many of today’s Jaguar XK 150 buyers are looking for project cars they can restore from the ground up, while other buyers will be looking for a pristine, showroom quality model. It is also important to have as much documentation available to show the history and maintenance/restoration work, if any, that has been performed over the years. As a leading California classic car dealership, the team at AlexManos.com is happy to speak with you about the sale of your 1957 Jaguar and to provide you with more Seller’s Tips.
