The Lamborghini Espada was launched in 1968 and stayed in production for a whole decade. 1217 units total were built and this 4- seat GT was Lamborghini’s most popular model to date. Marcello Gandini penned the model, giving the Espada a distinctive long with a particularly low profile. The Bertone body featured straight and sharp lines, for an overall refined and aggressive-looking model. Inside, the honeycomb dash was decorated with multiple octagonal gauges. Offered from 1970 to 1972, the series II models were redesigned with a more modern center console and a new steering wheel. In addition, the grille covering the vertical glass tail panel was removed on the new model. Lamborghini’s 4-liter V12 powered the Lamborghini Espada and the new model had an increased power output of 345 hp. Finally, an optional power steering and new vented Girling discs brakes were offered on the series II cars.
