Selling a Rolls Royce Camargue

Rolls Royce Silver Camargue

More stately and reserved than its brethren, the Rolls Royce Camargue was designed by one Paolo Martin of the Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina. Though sometimes called “ugly,” the Camargue has an utterly unique style, the most striking element being an inclined grille rather than a vertical one. Apt to its continental conception, it was the first Rolls Royce to be measured in Metric rather than Imperial dimensions. At release it featured the same 6.75 liter V8 engine seen in the Silver Shadow, as well as the same General Motors Hydramatic Transmission. Also featured was a new split-level climate control system that reportedly took eight years to develop. Later it would adopt the Silver Spirit’s independent rear suspension and Solex carburetors. It was produced mostly as a two-door saloon but a few modified convertibles can be found here and there. The Camargue is often overlooked, but it could be called something of a cult hit, appealing to the outliers of the classic car world.

Rolls Royce Camargue Seller’s Guide

Thought not terribly well-known, the Rolls Royce Camargue has found its place in the Rolls Royce pantheon and the classic car market at large. Potential buyers will be fixated on ensuring that your Camargue is in fact that. It’s not unheard of for parts to be swapped out here and there from more widespread models like the Silver Shadow, and buyers have a vested interest in sorting this out. The buyer-seller relationship and can be a delicate one and it is your job to prove the veracity of your claims and establish trust. But everything is not solely on your shoulders in selling a car. Like a buyer might renege on a deal due to inadequate information or subpar condition, the seller has every right to back out if they don’t feel comfortable.
